Vols Up One Spot To #19 In Nov. 25 College Football Playoff Rankings
November 25, 2025 | Football
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee jumped one spot to No. 19 in this week's College Football Playoff rankings following a dominant 31-11 win at Florida last Saturday.
The Volunteers (8-3, 4-3 SEC) will square off against No. 14 Vanderbilt (9-2, 5-2) at 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday in Neyland Stadium. The Senior Day contest is the first time both teams are ranked at the time of the meeting.
Tennessee has secured at least a .500 record in conference play all five years under head coach Josh Heupel. The Vols' three losses this season have come against current CFP top 10 teams – No. 4 Georgia (in overtime), No. 8 Oklahoma and at No. 10 Alabama. The losses to Nos. 4 and 8 were by a combined nine points.
Tennessee has won two in a row, including its largest margin of victory in the Swamp since 1955. The Vol defense has issued only two touchdowns in its last two games combined with both occurring late in the fourth quarter and the games already decided.
UT boasts the nation's fourth ranked total offense (491.1 ypg) and scoring offense (42.3 ppg). Quarterback Joey Aguilar leads a Tennessee passing offense that is tops in the SEC and fourth nationally (307.9 ypg).
Neyland Stadium is sold out for the 27th consecutive game. SEC Network's SEC Nation and Marty & McGee will be on hand Saturday from Ayres Hall.
