Vols Win First Game of Doubleheader

Jordan Czarniecki's two-run single in the eighth inning, lifted Tennessee to a 2-1 victory over the LSU in the first game of a doubleheader.
Ben Riley (5-2) tossed 8 1/3 innings for the win, allowing one run on a Sean Barker's home run leading off the seventh as he held the Tigers to four hits.
Jeffery Terrell picked up his sixth save as he recorded the final two outs, getting Matt Heath to ground into a bases loaded double play to preserve the win.
Lane Mestepey (9-3) took the loss as he gave up one hit through seven innings, before the Vols scored two runs on three hits in the decisive eighth.
The win also gave head coach Rod Delmonico 516 career victories, moving him into seventh place on the SEC's all-time wins list, passing Auburn's Paul Nix.
