TENNESSEE VS. VANDERBILT PREVIEW
1. Do you think the Vols will take the comeback victory over Auburn Saturday as an indication of their ability to fight from behind successfully?
A - "We'll build on that momentum from the Auburn game, down six points, but coming back to win. We'll learn you've got to do the little things on the road, going for the loose ball and a bunch of other big plays. Our guys know we have to carry that on the road, at Vanderbilt or a neutral site."
2. As a former assistant at Vanderbilt and now coaching at UT, describe the intensity of feeling fans of both schools feel about the Vols-Commodores rivalry.
A - "Intrastate rivalries bring excitement. Being on this end, there are other big games, but this is a special rivalry that the fans enjoy. When you work at Vanderbilt you hear an awful lot about Tennessee, and that doesn't make their people happy."
3. When UT plays at Vanderbilt Wednesday, what do you expect the Commodores to do differently from the game in Knoxville, won by the Vols 76-66?
A - "Vanderbilt has some good seniors who will be fired up to win this game, and the atmosphere will be electrifying. They may do more with their transition offense at home, pushing the ball a little more."
4. How important do you consider it to start into next week's Southeastern Conference tournament with momentum on the side of the Vols?
A - "We've got to have the momentum going and build on it. We need to do the things this week that will build confidence. Who knows? Go to the SEC, and you might win the first one. Then the second, the third and fourth."
