1. With Brandon Crump injured, how will the Vols adjust to the absence of their inside leader?
A - "It hurts to lose a man who has started for four years. It's day-to-day because we don't know when Brandon will come back. But we've got to prepare as though he isn't going to be available. Major Wingate, Jemere Hendrix and Andre Patterson need to step up and play a big role. We may look at going small. In the game of basketball you're going to have injuries, but you've got to make up for it and fill their shoes."
2. How close is 6-10 sophomore Major Wingate to being ready to take on a leadership role in the Vols' inside game?
A - "Major is doing a tremendous job, really coming on for us the last three or four weeks. He needs to stay aggressive. You could say the same about Andre Patterson and Jemere Hendrix."
3. Looking back at the Louisville game, what did you learn about the Vols that should help strengthen the team the rest of the season?
A - "We did an excellent job for about 30 minutes, really controlling the game. Then we took some quick shots at a time things were going our way. Francisco Garcia took over against us like he did two years ago. I learned a lot from Louisville, such as if we are patient and have long possessions, we will be okay."
4. Describe the progress of the highly regarded freshmen on the Kentucky team that visits the Vols Tuesday night (7:00E).
A - "They have talented freshmen. Start with Rajon Rondo, the point guard, very quick in running the ball club He set the tempo on defense. Ramel Bradley, a combo guard, has played really well for them the last three games. He gives Kentucky confidence."
5. What are the opportunities and the pitfalls involved in meeting the Auburn Tigers Saturday (6:00E) at Auburn?
A - "Auburn really launches the threes. They don't have much size. But they are aggressive and can cause matchup problems for you. You need to be ready for long rebounds."
