Please do not fall into the cess pool that is political correctness in this country. The so called Davy Crockett logo that has been a staple at UT for many years must not be abolished. I have not talked to ONE single person who agrees with the decision to phase this logo out. We are not in the wacko Northeast or the far Left coast. We are in the South. A place where tradition and values are cherished and the last place maybe in this country that political correctness is frowned upon. I'm not sure why the old logo is being discontinued but I'm guessing because the Volunteer is carrying a rifle. Please do not let such rediculous and shallow views of regions or people not from The Great State of Tennessee to interfere with the things that we love and cherish. Thank you for this forum to express our opinions.

Hi Clay,
Thanks for your e-mail. The pride that the University has in our Volunteer heritage has not been diminished in the least. However, the reality is that it is difficult, if not impossible, to rebrand the "Rifleman" logo in a manner that would be relevant today. Davy Crockett will still be a part of our game day activities. Thanks for your support of UT athletics.

Why doesn't the Big Orange Caravan stop at more cities? I always attended when it came to Paris each year and it was always well attended by Vol fans. Jackson is too far to drive and was held in the morning, which is not good for me to attend. Ron Phillips

Hi Ron,
Thanks for your e-mail. We would love to be able to get to more cities, and this year we tried to do that by adding breakfasts and lunches in cities on our way to our dinner locations. Unfortunately with recruiting and class schedules, it's hard to find a time that coaches can be out of the office a lot. In an effort to get to more cities, we have started a few three year rotations (i.e. we will rotate between Paris, Jackson and probably Union City, so each city will get the caravan every three years).
Thanks for your loyal support of Tennessee athletics!

Losing Gordon and now Smith is not what I would call getting off to a good start. I sure hope Pearl knows what he's doing. (Looks like another long basketball season at UT--but I do hope I am wrong about that) Thank you.
Morgan Hutchinson, Memphis, TN
Hi Morgan,
Thanks for your e-mail. We are all disappointed that Tyler and Jamont will not be Volunteers, but I have a lot of confidence in Coach Pearl and his ability to put a winning team on the court. He's said from the beginning that it won't be a quick fix, but I think the work he and his coaches are doing with our current players will be obvious on the court next year. Thanks for your support of Tennessee basketball.
Go Vols!
