VOLS TRAVEL TO JOHNSON CITY FOR BANK OF TENNESSEE INTERCOLLEIGATE

The 10th-ranked Tennessee men's golf team travels to Johnson City, Tenn., Friday for the ninth annual Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at the Ridges. The 54-hole tournament runs Saturday and Sunday and takes place at The Ridges Golf and Country Club.
The tournament boats 11 teams that are currently ranked in top 50 of the Golfweek national rankings. The field includes SEC opponents Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, and South Carolina along with host ETSU, Kent State, North Carolina, NC State, Pepperdine, Texas Christian, UAB, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
At last year's event the Volunteers finished ninth with a tournament scorecard of 295-294-292--881. Jonathan Mount was the top finisher for the Vols, ending the tournament in fifth place with a 54-hole total of 215.
The Tennessee lineup will feature Charlie Ford, Philip Pettitt, Chris Paisley, Tino Weiss and John Brannen.
Leading the charge for the Vols is junior Charlie Ford. Ford fired a 75-69-72--216 and finished in fourth place at the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate.
Murfreesboro native Philip Pettitt leads the team in stroke average with a 72.17 and has one top-10 finish this year.
Sophomore Chris Paisley follows Pettitt. Paisley flirted with his first top-10 finish of the season with a 13th place finish at Shoal Creek after firing a 54-hole total of 220.
Next for the Tennessee is senior Tino Weiss. Weiss has a scoring average of 72.83 and has fired four rounds of par or better this season.
Rounding out the Volunteer lineup is fellow senior John Brannen. This will mark Brannen's first tournament of the season.
Junior Jonathan Mount continues to recover from summer knee surgery. He was forced to withdraw after only one round at Shoal Creek.
Teams play 36 holes Saturday with an 8 a.m. Eastern Time start. Competition concludes with 18 holes Sunday. Live results are available at www.golfstat.com or ETSUBucs.com.
