Williams Named SEC Freshman of Week

Tennessee center Brian Williams was named the Southeastern Conference's Freshman of the week after recording his first career double-double in the Vols' 88-82 win over Western Kentucky Saturday.
Williams, a 6-10 big man from the Bronx, N.Y., scored 16 points and pulled down 14 rebounds against the Hilltoppers. Seven of his 14 rebounds were at the offensive end and his 14 rebounds were the most by a Vol since Vincent Yarbrough had 15 during the 2000-01 season.
He leads Tennessee with 5.7 rebounds per game and entered the Western Kentucky game averaging 2.8 points and 4.3 rebounds and hadn't played in UT's previous two games.
