KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The remainder of the third game of the Orange and White World Series, originally scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, has been cancelled due to inclement weather in the Knoxville area. Play was also suspended last Friday with the Orange team leading 7-4 in the bottom of the eighth. A decision on whether the final two innings will be completed will be made at a later date.
Guided by first-year pitching coach Jason Beverlin, the Orange squad holds a 3-0 advantage in the Volunteer's fall series over the White team, which is led by infielders coach Bradley LeCroy. Tennessee will return to the Lindsey Nelson Stadium for the fifth and sixth games of the World Series, Saturday, Oct. 24, and Sunday, Oct. 25, while the final contest will take place on Friday, Oct. 30. Start times for those games will be announced the week they are scheduled to take place. Admission to all games is free.
