The Tennessee athletics marketing department was among the award winners announced this week by the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators for 2009-10.
UT's marketing department, led by Doug Kose, assistant athletic director for sales and marketing, and Jimmy Delaney, senior director of sales and marketing, took home three awards. For the "Life is Orange and White" campaign, Tennessee marketing earned a gold medal in the best single newspaper display ad category.
"It's a great feeling to be recognized by our peer institutions for our hard work and creativity," Delaney said. "Receiving these awards is a testament to all the great folks in our athletics department."
Tennessee also earned a silver medal in the best radio commercial category and a bronze medal for best electronic promotion.
"We are proud to have a great partner in the Tombras Group, our advertising agency, whose hard work has elevated our marketing campaign," Kose said. "The UT fan base is the best in the world and it is an honor to continue the traditions of this fine institution."
According to Kose, this sort of accomplishment is not achieved without the hard work of a dedicated staff. Tennessee's marketing staff includes assistant director Rocky Kundert, 2009-10 interns Brian Kohout, Rachel Penny, Jamaal Walton and Lauren Wey, and administrative assistant Terri Hansen.
