NUMBERS OF INTEREST

- The Vols started the same line-up for the third game in a row (Trae Golden, Kenny Hall, Cameron Tatum, Jeronne Maymon, Jordan McRae).
TALKING RECORDS
- UT's loss in its third game marks its earliest loss since starting 1-1 in 2004-05, when the Vols opened their season at the Maui Invitational.
- The Vols are now 1-3 all-time in the Maui Invitational. UT also participated in the event in 2004 (1-3).
- The Blue Devils now lead the all-time series 8-7. Tonight was the first meeting between the two schools since Dec. 29, 1980.
FROM DOWNTOWN
- Tennessee was held without a three-pointer (0-for-8) for the first time since Feb. 1, 1997 in a 60-41 win vs. Wofford, when the Vols were 0-for-16.. Since then, the Vols had hit at least one three in 461 straight games.
KEY RUN
- After UT scored six straight points to cut Duke's deficit to 55-53 in the second half, Duke went on a 15-6 run to pull away from the 9:12 to the 4:39 mark.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE
- For the second consecutive game, Jeronne Maymon recorded a double-double for the Vols. After contributing 11 points and 11 rebounds vs. ULM, Maymon dropped 14 points and a game-high 12 boards.
- Also, for the second straight contest, Maymon set his career-high with 12 rebounds and led all players.
- Maymon is averaging 13.3 points and a team-high nine rebounds per game.
GOLDEN TOUCH
- Despite picking up his second foul with 17:23 remaining and being limited to less than five minutes in the first half, sophomore point guard Trae Golden scored 13 points and dished out two assists.
- Golden was 4-of-8 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free throw line. Golden has scored in double digits in every game this season.
ALL-AROUND TATUM
- Cameron Tatum matched his season-high in assists with UT's best total of four.
- Tatum also chipped in 10 points and five rebounds, the latter of which was also a season-high. It marked his second straight game in double-digits.
7 STEALS
- The Vols have recorded seven steals in all three of thier games this season. UT was led by two a piece from both Jeronne Maymon and freshman Wes Washpun. The figure matched a season-high by an individual Vol this season, and marked career highs for both.
BLOCK HALL
- For the fifth time in his career and second straight game, Kenny Hall recorded a pair of blocks.
FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
- Freshman Yemi Makanjuola scored his first career points at Tennessee and finished the game with four. In fact, Makanjuola had yet to attempt a shot prior to this evening. He converted both of his field goal attempts this evening and pulled down two rebounds.
GIVE ME A BREAK
- The Vols outscored their third opponent in fastbreak points in as many tries, besting Duke, 8-5. On the season, Tennessee has outdone its opponents 35-15 in transition. None of UT's foes have scored more than six on fastbreaks (ULM).
