For Starters
• Tonight's starters: senior Cameron Tatum, juniors Kenny Hall and Jeronne Maymon and sophomores Trae Golden and Jordan McRae.
• Tonight's attendance: 15,424
• Tatum was UT's lone returning starter from last season. One of two seniors on the roster (Renaldo Woolridge), Tatum is also UT's leading returning scorer with 8.8 points averaged over 34 games in 2010-11.
• Kenny Hall scored Tennessee's first points, a layup off of his first of three offensive rebounds for the game.
• Former Vol Tobias Harris (2010-11) was in attendance for the second consecutive exhbition game. Harris was UT's eighth all-time first-round NBA draft pick in June, when the Charlotte Bobcats drafted him 19th overall and traded his rights to the Milwaukee Bucks.
• Former Vol Damon Johnson (1994-96) was also in the stands. Johnson, an assistant coach at King College, averaged 9.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in two seasons for Tennessee.
Double-Digit Shutout Runs
• Trailing 3-2 early, Tennessee used a 19-0 run in 3:34 to take a commanding 21-3 lead by the 12:28 mark of the first half. The spurt, which was the most unanswered points UT scored in its two exhbition games, was led by four three-pointers and four steals.
• The Railsplitters came as close as 29-21, before the Vols used a 10-0 run to match their largest lead of the first half of 18 (39-21).
Golden Age
•Sophomore Trae Golden scored a team-high 22 points, which would have been a career-high. His highest scoring game last season was 8, which he accomplished four times. Golden had an overall "career night," in the exhibition as his numbers for points (22), rebounds (4), assists (8), field goals made (6), 3-pointers made (4), free throws made (6), free throw attempts (7) would have all set new career-highs, if Monday's game was a regular-season tilt.
•Golden's three-pointer with 6:46 remaining in the game stopped a 26-11 run after the Railsplitters cut their deficit to four (64-60). On the ensuing LMU possession Golden took a deflected pass and led the fast break, finding Cameron Tatum for an easy dunk.
