For the fourth consecutive year, Tennessee's marketing department was honored by the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators.
At a ceremony last week at the NACMA conference in Orlando, Fla., Tennessee received three awards for its work during the 2010-11 academic year.
'The Porch,' outfield seating / picnic space in left field at Lindsey Nelson Stadium, earned a gold award in the New Revenue-Generating Idea category.
Headed by assistant marketing director Rocky Kundert, the Porch was added for the 2009 season with eight unique seating areas. Three more were added for the 2011 season.
This season, Porch space was sold out for nine of UT's 15 SEC home games. Each Porch area comes with 15 tickets and three parking passes and features a picnic table, a table with an umbrella and four chairs, two rocking chairs and a barbecue grill.
UT's broadcasting staff, led by Barry Rice and Link Hudson, took home a silver award for Video Board Segment for their work on the men's basketball intro video. Watch a behind the scenes look at the video board shoot here.
The marketing department also won a bronze award in the Single Newspaper Display Ad category for the creative efforts of Jimmy Delaney, senior director of sales and marketing, and the Tombras Group. The ad, which can be viewed here in PDF form, stressed the impact fans have at women's basketball games.
