UT's Cronan Part Of ESPN Roundtable

BRISTOL, Conn. - Joan Cronan, Tennessee's interim vice chancellor/director of athletics, is being featured by ESPN as one of 11 college sports roundtable experts examining a variety of college football topics.
The group's discussions have taken place and are part of the sports network's series entitled College Football: Blueprint for Change. Beginning Sunday, segments will be airing daily for one week on such platforms as SportsCenter, College Football Live, Outside the Lines, as a one-hour special on ESPNU and on ESPN.com through Aug. 21.
Joining Cronan and ESPN host Rece Davis were ESPN college football analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Urban Meyer, Mark May, Mike Belotti, Robert Smith and Rod Gilmore; ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Bilas; current college football coaches Nick Saban of Alabama and Bob Stoops of Oklahoma; and former Big East Conference commissioner Mike Tranghese.
Cronan was named Tennessee's interim vice chancellor/director of athletics on June 9 by UT-Knoxville Chancellor Jimmy G. Cheek.
Cronan has served UT for thirty years and has been in her role of director of women's athletics since the 1983-84 season. She also was the head women's basketball coach from 1968 to 1970 before a ten-year stint at College of Charleston from 1973 to 1983, where her service included being director of women's athletics, head women's basketball coach, head women s tennis coach, and head volleyball coach.
An industry leader who has served a variety of organizations in addition to her responsibilities at UT, Cronan was the president of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics from 2008 to 2009. Additionally, she was president of the National Association of Collegiate Women Administrators of Athletics (NACWAA) from 2007 to 2008. She also has served on the NCAA and SEC Executive Committees as well as on the NCAA's Management Council and Championship Cabinet.
