The College Rowing Coaches Association recognized the achievements of Tennessee senior Erika Lauderdale, naming her to the 2012 Pocock All-America Second Team.
"When I found out, I was really, really excited--it's been a goal of mine throughout my career," said Lauderdale. "It feels great--I've met a lot of the All-Americans who came before me at Tennessee and I always looked up to them. I'm honored to be able to leave my name among them here at UT. I have to thank my coaches for all they did to help me and I feel so blessed to receive such an honor."
Lauderdale becomes UT first All-American since Laura Miller earned the distinction in 2010. She is Tennessee's 11th all-time All-America selection, with all 11 coming since 2003.
The Bartlett native anchored Tennessee's first varsity eight all season, leading the shell and her team to the 2012 Conference USA Championship in May. For her efforts in capturing the league title, Lauderdale was named to the C-USA All-Conference team, and also earned CRCA First-Team All-South honors for the third-consecutive year.
The four-year letterwinner began her career at Tennessee with the novice squad but quickly distinguished herself as one of the Lady Vols' top performers.
