SWIM CENTRAL: Georgia Tech Invitational
November 21, 2013 | Swimming & Diving
Nov. 21, 2013
After a period of intense training in their home waters, the Georgia Tech meet provides the first competition for the UT men's and women's squads since the double dual meet at Indiana against the Hoosiers and SEC foe Kentucky on Nov. 1. The Tennessee women are currently ranked ninth nationally with a 5-0 record. The men are No. 22 with a 3-2 record.
With action starting Friday morning, here are a few quick notes:
THREE-DAY SCHEDULE: In several ways, the Georgia Tech Invitational serves as early preparation for the championship season ahead. The scheduling is similar to the SEC and NCAA meets. Preliminary races and diving competitions will take place in the morning, followed by the championship rounds in the evening. Tennessee has only competed in dual meets so far this year, so this weekend also serves as the first multi-day event for the team.
