Lady Vols Finish 14th at Darius Rucker

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Tennessee women's golf team shot a final round 300 (+16) on Sunday and finished the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in 14th place.
The Lady Volunteers had a weekend total of 904 (+52) at the Long Cove Club and was led by senior Chessey Thomas.
The Spokane, Wash., native fired a 73 (+2) in the final round to finish with a total of 223 (+10). Thomas finished tied for 26th place. Thomas has been UT's top finisher in all six of her tournament appearances this season.
Freshman Lucia Polo carded a third round 75 (+4) to finish tied for 31st with a total score of 224 (+11). Fellow freshman Hannah Pietila shot a final round 74 (+3) that consisted of three birdies. Pietila finished tied for 42nd with a total score of 227 (+14).
Juniors Mason Chen and Daeun Song rounded out UT's starting five with total scores of 236 (+23) and 239 (+26), respectively. Chen followed up her impressive second round 74 (+3) with a final round 79 (+8) to finish tied for 77th. Meanwhile, Song shot a third round 78 (+7) to finish 83rd.
Emmie Pietila competed as an individual for head coach Judi Pavon and finished tied for 80th with a total score of 238 (+25).
The Duke Blue Devils swept the tournament championships by winning the team competition by ten strokes over Vanderbilt and claimed the individual competition when Yiu Lu beat LSU's Caroline Nistrup with a birdie on the first playoff hole.
Tennessee will be back in action March 28-30 at the Bryan National Collegiate in Greensboro, N.C.
