Hulen Promoted to Chief Development Officer

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The University of Tennessee Athletic Department announced Friday that Greg Hulen has been promoted to Chief Development Officer. In this expanded role, Hulen will oversee all operations of the Tennessee Fund Office and coordinate fundraising efforts through the UT Foundation.
Hulen was a driving force in the launch of the athletic department's Campaign for Comprehensive Excellence in the fall of 2013, playing a key role in securing a transformational $16 million gift from Mike and Mickala Sisk. In the first year of the Campaign, thanks in large measure to a number of significant leadership commitments, funding has been secured for several capital projects, including Pat Summitt Plaza, the Ray and Lucy Hand Digital Studio, the expansion of the Haslam practice fields, and renovation of the basketball locker rooms at Thompson-Boling Arena.
"Greg has been a tremendous asset to the University." said Dave Hart, Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics. "He's earned the opportunity to have a greater leadership role within our Tennessee Fund efforts."
Hulen joined the Tennessee athletic department staff in 2005. He will continue to report to Chris Fuller, Senior Associate Athletics Director, External Operations.
"Thanks to the generosity of our donors, this has been a landmark year for athletics fundraising at a key time in our history," said Fuller. "The ability of our Tennessee Fund staff, under Greg's direction, to work with our contributors has led to many significant accomplishments that directly impact our ability to achieve comprehensive excellence as an athletic department."
In recent months, the Tennessee Fund staff has made two additional changes, promoting Megan Kain to Assistant Athletics Director and adding Blake Johnson as Senior Director. Kain has been instrumental in executing the Campaign strategy and providing overall leadership for the Tennessee Fund staff. Johnson rejoined the Tennessee Fund staff in February with a focus on major gift cultivation.
