NEW YORK -- The NFL Players Association is proud to announce that Tennessee running back Marlin Lane Jr. has committed to playing in the 2015 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.
Throughout his Vols career, he racked up 1,772 rushing yards and 517 receiving yards. This includes a stellar 2012 when he carried the ball for 658 yards and added 228 yards on receptions. He also saw nine career kickoff returns (averaged 19.4 yards per return) and seven punt returns.
In his final game with the Vols, Lane Jr. showed his versatility by throwing a 49-yard touchdown bomb on his first career pass attempt to help Tennessee secure a win over Iowa in the 2015 TaxSlayer Bowl. He earned extensive playing time in a win over Vanderbilt, rushing 16 times and adding three catches for 21 receiving yards, and against the stout defense from No. 4 Alabama, he ripped off a 44-yard rush.
The Daytona Beach, Florida native will be one of the talented draft-eligible seniors competing in the all-star game on Saturday, January 17 at StubHub Center on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills in Carson, California.
Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised live on ESPN2. ESPNU will also air live broadcasts from practices on Wednesday, January 14 and Thursday, January 15.
