THE FREE THROW DIFFERENCE
- One of the biggest difference in the game was free throw disparity.
- Mississippi State shot 24 of 44 from the line (54.5 percent), making just 13 of 26 in the second half (50 percent).
- The Bulldogs had entered the game shooting 73.1 percent from the free throw line as a team.
- Meanwhile, the Vols made 17 of 22 free throws (77.3 percent).
- Tennessee was called for 32 fouls in the game.
THE FREE THROW DIFFERENCE
- Kevin Punter led the Vols with 15 points on 4 of 8 shooting from the floor and 5 of 5 from the free throw line before fouling out.
- Josh Richardson had 11 points, and Devon Baulkman had 10 points.
- Derek Reese matched his career best with 10 rebounds.
