Gregg & Geer Named to Preseason All-SEC Team

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee’s Meghan Gregg and Megan Geer were both named to the Preseason All-SEC team as announced by the league office on Wednesday morning.

Both Gregg and Geer were NFCA All-Southeast Region third team selections last season and both have also been named to the SEC All-Freshmen team during their careers. Gregg was also an All-SEC first team pick a year ago.
UT’s two players on the preseason team was tied for fourth most in the conference with Texas A&M. Defending regular-season champion Florida, Georgia and LSU all had three players named to the team to lead the conference.
Gregg and Geer were two of the Vols’ top offensive players last season, ranking first and third on the team in batting average and RBIs, respectively. The dynamic duo also tied for second on the squad with 11 home runs apiece.
The preseason team was selected by the league’s head coaches. Each SEC head coach voted for five infielders, four outfielders, three pitchers, one catcher and one designated player/utility. View the entire release from the SEC HERE.
Tennessee opens its season on Feb. 10 with a doubleheader against Tennessee Tech and Middle Tennessee at the Eagle Round Robin in Statesboro, Ga.
