Vols Earn Three SEC Swimming, Diving Weekly Awards

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Tennessee senior Kira Toussaint, junior Liam Stone and freshman Meghan Small earned SEC weekly swimming and diving awards, the conference announced Tuesday.
Toussaint was named the SEC Swimmer of the Week after helping lead the Tennessee women to its first ever victory at Florida in her final collegiate dual meet.
She took first in the 100-yard backstroke (53.62) and 200 backstroke (1:56.82) and was also part of the winning 200 medley relay team at the start of the meet and the 400 freestyle relay team to end the competition and lead the Vols past the Gators 151-149.
Small earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors for a third time this season by winning three events in the meet. She won the 200 freestyle in 1:47.25, the 500 freestyle in 4:48.36 and the 200 IM in 1:59.06. It was her season-best in the 200 freestyle and her first collegiate 500 freestyle race.
Stone picked up SEC Diver of the Week honors for a fourth time this season with another springboard sweep, taking first on 1-meter (402.67) and 3-meter (417.90). It was the first time in his career he has cleared over 400 points on both springboard events at a meet.
Tennessee will host the SEC Swimming and Diving Championships from Feb. 14-18 at Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.
