KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Volunteers' first tournament of the spring is just 9 days away! To count down to the start of the 2017 spring season, UTSports.com will profile a player each day on Tennessee's 2017 squad. The countdown began February 1 and will run up until Day One of the Northrop Grumman (Feb. 12-14) in Palos Verdes, Calif.

Need to Know
Tennessee starts its spring tournament schedule at the Northrop Grumman in Palos Verdes, Calif., on February 12-14. The Orange and White then travel to Auburn for a head-to-head matchup against the Tigers on February 26.
Following the one day event, the Big Orange heads east to compete in the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate on March 3-5 in Hilton Head S.C.
The Vols compete in two more tournaments, the 3M Augusta Invitational (March 17-19) and the Clemson Invitational (March 31-April 2), before playing in the SEC Championship in Birmingham, Ala., on April 21-23.
2017 NCAA Regionals, hosted by New Mexico, East Carolina, Texas Tech and Ohio State, take place May 8-10. Teams that advance out of the regionals will compete at the NCAA Championship in Sugar Grove, Ill., on May 19-24.
On the season, Tennessee, led by Head Coach Judi Pavon and her staff, is averaging 290.00 strokes per round and has finished in the top five in all four tournaments of the fall.

Getting to Know Allison
2015-17 | Skillman, N.J.
Hailing from Skillman, N.J., Allison Herring began her collegiate career on Rocky Top in 2015. She played in three tournaments as a freshman and carded her first top-25 finish as a Vol in the Lady Bulldog Championship. This season, Herring competed in the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship and shot a career-low 75 in the first round.
As a senior at Montgomery High School, she earned All-State First Team, All-Area First Team and Skyland Conference First Team accolades. Herring was also honored as Golfer of the Year by the "Trenton Times" and "Princeton Packet."
Herring recorded 11 top-five finishes, including a win at the 2014 AJGA UnderArmour/Scott Stallings Qualifier and a second place finish at the 2015 NJSIAA Tournament of Championships after having led the tournament for 14 holes.
