Bhat Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- In addition to walking the graduation stage Thursday, Tennessee men's tennis senior Sunay Bhat was named CoSIDA Academic All-District.
Bhat wrapped up his degree this semester with a 3.91 grade point average in electrical engineering. The Knoxville native is a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and a three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
On the court, he earned a spot in the lineup this season for the first time in his career. He won his first three SEC doubles matches with sophomore Srdjan Jakovljevic.
Bhat was Tennessee's male finalist for the SEC McWhorter Postgraduate Award, an honor given to the top senior scholar-athlete in the conference. He served as team captain and member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for two years. He was also a two-time member of the SEC Community Service Team.
