Mattern Called Up To U.S. U-20 Women's National Team Training Camp
October 20, 2025 | Soccer
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Tennessee sophomore forward Reese Mattern has been called up to the U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team training camp, U.S. Soccer communications announced Monday.
Mattern is one of 24 players set to participate in the camp, which will be held from October 22-30 at the University of Kansas Health System Training Center, home of the 2025 NWSL Shield winners Kansas City Current. The latter part of that camp – from Oct. 27-29 – will be held concurrently with the senior USWNT's visit to Kansas City for its match against New Zealand on Oct. 29 at CPKC Stadium.Â
This camp will be the first for new U.S. U-20 WNT head coach Vicky Jepson, who comes to U.S. Soccer after a long stint at Tottenham Hotspur where she served as first team senior assistant head coach and for a period, as interim head coach.Â
This marks Mattern's third call-up for a National Team training camp, as she took part in a pair of U-19 camps earlier this year.
The Charlottesville, Virginia, native has start in 14 matches for the Lady Vols this season while appearing in all 16 contests. Mattern has logged a pair of goals and assists on the year and recorded the game-winner in a 1-0 victory over Texas A&M (9/26).Â
