TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The #16 Tennessee volleyball program picked up its fourth road victory of the season, earning the four set win over Alabama (25-18, 25-20, 23-25, 25-15).
The Lady Vols (15-3, 6-2 SEC) enjoyed another dazzling performance on the court, finishing with 58 kills on a .265 hitting percentage. The serve was big for Tennessee on the evening, notching 10 in the match to just four for the Crimson Tide (10-9, 2-7 SEC). On the defensive side, the Lady Vols finished the contest with 67 digs and 10 blocks while holding Alabama to .168 hitting.
Senior Outside Hitter Hayden Kubik had another double-double performance, leading the team in both kills (18) and digs (17) for her fifth double-double of the campaign. Joining her in double-double land was Mackenzie Plante, who tied her career-high with 14 kills while adding 11 digs.

Zoë Humphrey and Chelsea Sutton led the Tennessee block defense, each finishing with five and four respectively. Sutton also joined in on the kill effort in the match with nine. Gülce Güçtekin had a strong night on the back row, netting 14 digs.
Tennessee used a 5-1 run to take an early lead in the first, but Alabama would rally back to even the score at 15 apiece. Four consecutive points for the Lady Vols would put them back in command in the set, and they would hold on to take the early 1-0 advantage. Plante got her night started early, with six of the team's 15 kills in the set with a .382 hitting percentage.
The second set started back and forth, before the Big Orange were able to create separation. Alabama again made a late charge, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Vols took the two set lead. Kubik did her part with seven kills in the set, while Humphrey did her best at the net with three blocks to quell the Crimson Tide attack.
Alabama would begin the third set hot, take a six-point advantage. Tennessee would rally late to get within one, but couldn't complete the comeback effort in the frame. Plante added another six kills to her total on .333 hitting, Kubik did her best on defense with seven digs.
The fourth set was all Tennessee, as the team took the first six points. The Lady Vols controlled from the start, never letting Alabama get within five. Tennessee finished off the match assisting 12 of its 13 kills in the set. Kerr had eight to lead the offense, while Kubik closed out the match with five kills.
Up next, the Lady Vols continue their road trip on Sunday as they head to the Magnolia State to take on Mississippi State. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m. and will be streamed on SEC Network+.
