March 10, 2025 | Swimming & Diving, Women's Swimming & Diving, Men's Swimming & Diving
AUBURN, Ala. – Bennett Greene and Nick Stone punched their tickets to NCAAs on 3-meter, highlighting day two of the Zone B Diving Championships.
Â
After qualifying on 1-meter Sunday afternoon, the duo only needed to finish inside the top 12 of today's competition in order to advance in their second event. Greene placed eighth overall thanks to a combined score of 726.20, while Stone took 12th thanks to a 699.55 effort.
Â
Owen Redfearn also competed on the day, checking in at 10th with a mark of 714.25. Although he didn't meet the qualifying spots (top eight), he does have a chance to punch his ticket in the event with a top-six finish on platform tomorrow.
Â
The women's competition began Monday. Sophomore Lynae Shorter was the lone Lady Vol to compete, finishing 10th (552.80) on 1-meter. She was one spot (21.75 points) shy of earning an automatic qualification in the event, but since she finished inside the top 12, she will advance in the event if she qualifies on either 3-meter or platform.
Â
Shorter posted a score of 270.10 during prelims, moving onto finals in 12th place. From there, she climbed two spots thanks to a 282.70 effort. Her list was highlighted by a pair of 50-point dives.
