AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 14 Tennessee men's tennis team suffered a 4-0 loss to third-seeded Texas on Saturday afternoon at Texas Tennis Center in the NCAA Super Regional.

The Vols (22-9) dropped the doubles point after the Longhorns (28-4) picked up a pair of wins on courts one and three. Shunsuke Mitsui and Alan Jesudason were able to give UT a little momentum during the middle of the events, but Texas was able to gain the early 1-0 advantage heading into singles play.

Tennessee fell behind early in singles, dropping five first sets. Mitsui was able to put together a 6-3 showing in his opening frame to give the Big Orange their only early lead. The match was interrupted twice before play was able to finish, with one delay lasting a few minutes and the other taking over two hours to restart singles action.

After the action resumed, the first individual win was earned by Texas, as No. 54 Pierre-Yves Bailly defeated Alejandro Moreno, 6-0, 6-3. The next two victories were earned within seconds of each other, as the Longhorns posted triumphs on courts five and six to clinch the match.

The remaining matches were left in competitive battles, with Alex Kotzen, Jose Garcia and Mitsui all left battling in their second sets.
