Tennessee Volleyball Announces Addition of Director of Operations Terrence Robertson

KNOXVILLE, TENN. --Â Tennessee volleyball head coach Eve Rackham Watt has announced the hiring of Terrence Robertson at the program's Director of Operations. Robertson comes to Tennessee from Florida International, where he was the team's Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.

He brings extensive experience in every facet of successful volleyball programs, including strategic foresight, collaboration, and a proven track record of integrity and teamwork. That depth of experience will elevate every facet of our operations, accelerate growth, and turn bold visions into measurable results."

Robertson joined the FIU program ahead of the 2022 season, helping lead the Panthers to one of their most successful seasons in 2025. FIU won 20 matches in 2025, the first time the program had 20 or more wins since 2011. The Panthers advanced to the Conference USA Championship Game for the second time in program history, coming within one point of securing the conference's automatic bid and going to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019. In his final season in Miami, Robertson coached seven players to Conference USA postseason honors, including CUSA Libero of the Year Mandi Morioka and Newcomer of the Year Magda Stambrowska. Robertson coached four other players at FIU to all-conference honors while on the staff.

Before coaching at FIU, Robertson spent four seasons at UMBC. In his four seasons with the Retrievers, Robertson helped guide the team to 44 wins and consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. While at the helm, UMBC won both the 2020 and 2021 America East Championships, securing the program's first two NCAA berths since 1998. In his final season at UMBC, Robertson was a a pivotal member on the 2021 America East Coaching Staff of the Year that led the Retrievers to a perfect 12-0 main in conference play. In the Spring 2021 season, UMBC went 9-3 in the America East, earning a share of the regular season title for the first time in program history. Nine UMBC student-athletes earned All-America East honors and seven were named to the America East All-Rookie team under Robertson's guidance. Robertson was key in the development of Koren Teter, who garnered AVCA East Coast All-Region team honors in 2021, becoming the first Retriever in program history to earn AVCA All-Region recognition and the second player to be named America East Defensive Specialist of the Year.

Robertson was recognized by the AVCA as one of its Thirty Under 30 Award members. The award was created in 2009 to honor up-and-coming coaching talent at all levels of the sport. Robertson was key to the Retrievers recruiting efforts. The 2020 and 2021 recruiting classes each saw four different players earn All-America East honors in their first seasons, including back-to-back Rookie of the Year awards

A graduate from Campbell University, Robertson competed as a member of the Fighting Camels Men's Basketball program where also earned a Master of Business Administration.
