UT Sophomore Duo Tabbed Baseball America Preseason All-Americans

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee had two more players garner preseason All-America honors on Tuesday in sophomores Tegan Kuhns and Blaine Brown, who both earned second-team recognition from Baseball America.
Kuhns was selected as a starting pitcher while Brown earned a spot as a two-way player. Unlike other outlets, Baseball America's preseason All-America teams are selected by MLB scouting departments.
After a solid freshman campaign and an impressive summer ball showing in the Cape Cod league, Kuhns is expected to be a key piece of the Volunteers' revamped pitching staff this season.
The sophomore right hander finished third on the team with 10 starts in 2025, posting a 5.40 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 36.2 innings of work for the Big Orange.
Brown enters his first season with the program after transferring in from Rice, where he was a first-team All-American Conference selection and was also named to the league's All-Freshman team after leading the Owls in batting average (.292), slugging percentage (.493), hits (61), RBI (38), doubles (12), home runs (10), total bases (103) and multi-hit games (18).
The Texas native also made seven appearances and four starts on the mound and is in line to have a role on UT's pitching staff this year, as well.

No. 3/14 Tennessee opens its 2026 season at the newly renovated Lindsey Nelson Stadium at 4:30 p.m. next Friday against Nicholls.
