Karlyn Pickens Named to SEC Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Tennessee senior Karlyn Pickens was named to the 2026 SEC Softball Community Service Team, the conference announced Tuesday.
The annual honor recognizes one student-athlete from each SEC institution for outstanding service and contributions to their community.
Pickens has been actively involved in a range of outreach efforts throughout the Knoxville area. She has volunteered at Lonsdale Elementary School, assisting with physical education classes, and has worked with the Special Olympics in support of local athletes.
The Weaverville, North Carolina, native has also dedicated time to organizations such as Emerald Youth and Girls Inc., helping create opportunities for youth development and mentorship. Her service efforts also include participation in events like the Community Holiday Meal and Voloween.
In addition to her work in the community, Pickens has excelled academically. She earned 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-America second-team honors and is a two-time CSC Academic All-District selection. She has also been named twice to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll and was a member of the 2022-23 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll.
