KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The 2025-26 professional basketball slate is nearing its end in leagues around the globe. A breakdown of VFLs in pro basketball—from the NBA to the G League to the EuroLeague and beyond—can be found below.

Kennedy Chandler | Utah Jazz | at Tennessee 2021-22
Chandler returned to NBA play for the first time since 2022-23, signing two 10-day contracts with Utah, one in March and one in April. The 2022 SEC Tournament MVP made the most of his opportunity by scoring in double figures in nine of his 11 appearances for the Jazz, including seven in a row. He dropped a career-high 31 points against New Orleans on April 7 and recorded his first NBA double-double in the season finale with 26 points and a career-best 10 assists versus Memphis. Chandler shot 15-of-38 (39.5 percent) from beyond the arc for Utah.
Tobias Harris | Detroit Pistons | at Tennessee 2010-11
Harris concluded his 15th season in the NBA in the Eastern Conference Semifinals after aiding his team to the best record in the East. Harris averaged 13.3 points in his 27.7 minutes per game and took the floor 63 times, all of which were starts. The eldest player on a young Detroit team that went 60-22, Harris finished the season third on the Pistons in minutes and points behind only all-NBA picks Cade Cunningham and Jalen Duren. He scored 20-plus points in eight consecutive playoff games. On Jan. 27, he became just the 155th player in NBA history to reach 1,000 appearances.
Tyreke Key | Toronto Raptors | at Tennessee 2022-23
Key, in his third professional season, earned his first NBA deal when he signed a 10-day contract with the Toronto Raptors on April 6. Although he did not appear in a game, he officially joined the NBA ranks. Key's promotion came after a G League season in which he produced 14.9 points per game for Raptors 905, while shooting 51.4 percent from the field, 40.0 percent on 3-pointers and 86.0 percent at the line.
Dalton Knecht | Los Angeles Lakers | at Tennessee 2023-24
The runner-up for AP National Player of the Year in his lone campaign as a Volunteer, Dalton Knecht finished his second season with the Los Angeles Lakers averaging 4.2 points per game in 10.2 minutes average. Despite sharing minutes with the likes of Austin Reeves and LeBron James at the shooting guard and small forward spots, Knecht checked in to 54 games, reaching double-digit points seven times, including a season-high 17 against Utah in an April 14 victory in which he hit five of his six 3-point attempts. He also appeared in four G League affairs for the South Bay Lakers and dazzled with 21.3 points per game on 50.9 percent shooting.
Chaz Lanier | Detroit Pistons | at Tennessee 2024-25
Tennessee's single-season 3-point record holder, Chaz Lanier played 34 games in a reserve role for the Detroit Pistons, alongside Harris. In his rookie campaign, he averaged 2.4 points in 7.7 minutes per game. The 2024-25 All-American logged an 83.3 percent clip at the stripe. Despite his limited minutes, Detroit registered a 28-6 record in games he appeared in. He notably registered eight points in a career-high 26:31 of floor time in a 137-135 overtime win against Washington on Nov. 10. Lanier also appeared in 20 contests at the G League level with the Motor City Cruise and excelled to the tune of 18.6 points per game, while shooting 39.7 percent from 3-point range.
Jahmai Mashack | Memphis Grizzlies | at Tennessee 2021-25
The rookie, on a two-way contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, made a splash as a contributor down the stretch. Mashack posted several notable performances, headlined by his 13-point, 15-rebound, 14-assist triple-double against Utah on April 10. He became just the fourth NBA player in the last two seasons to achieve that line, alongside Nikola Jokić (13 times), Jalen Johnson (thrice) and Giannis Antetokounmpo. His defensive versatility, for which he became notorious while at Tennessee, also earned him acclaim in the NBA, as the 6-foot-3 guard played minutes at the center position in February, earning nine steals in his first two games at the position, which included his first start.
Julian Phillips | Minnesota Timberwolves | at Tennessee 2022-23
In his third NBA season, Julian Phillips played a key role as a reserve for the Chicago Bulls before being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a February deadline deal. With the Timberwolves, who advanced to the Western Conference Semifinals, Phillips tallied 3.2 points per game in his 13 appearances. He saw the floor in five additional games during first-career playoff run.
Grant Williams | Charlotte Hornets | at Tennessee 2016-19
After missing over 13 months of action following a knee injury, Grant Williams returned to the court Jan. 10 and aided his hometown Hornets to a 25-11 record in his 36 appearances to end the season. With the strong finish to the campaign, Charlotte earned a spot in the NBA Play-In Tournament. The two-time SEC Player of the Year averaged 19.8 minutes per game and shot 38.8 percent from 3-point range, his best clip since 2022-23 when he was with Boston. He had a season-best 20 points and co-season-high nine rebounds in a Feb. 19 matchup with Houston.
VOLS IN THE G LEAGUE AND OVERSEAS
Jordan Gainey | KK Cedevita Junior Zagreb in Premijer Liga (Croatia) | at Tennessee 2023-25
Gainey emerged as a star in Croatia's Premjier Liga, running the point for KK Cedevita Junior Zagreb in his first professional season. He led his team (min. 10 GP) in points (14.0) and steals (1.4) per game, both of which put him in the top 10 in the league. Gainey's best play came in April, as from March 31 to April 25, he piloted Cedevita to a six-game win streak and scored in double figures in each contest, including pouring in a season-high 26 in a 85-80 win over Dinamo.
Admiral Schofield | Cairns Taipans (Australia) & Santeros de Aguada (Puerto Rico) | at Tennessee 2015-19
A two-time All-SEC selection at Tennessee, Schofield is in his seventh year as a professional and has spent parts of four years in the NBA. He played for the Cairns Taipans in the high-level NBL in 2025-26, putting up 8.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game across 30 appearances, while shooting 52.1 percent inside the arc. Schofield is now with Santeros de Aguada in the Puerto Rico-based Baloncesto Superior Nacional, which starts late and goes well into the summer. Through his first seven outings, Schofield is averaging 8.0 points per game.
Jaden Springer | Birmingham Squadron (G League) | at Tennessee 2020-21
Springer opened the year with the New Orleans Pelicans, as Tennessee had nine VFLs appear on an active roster in 2025-26, but spent the season with Birmingham Squadron in the G League. A 2021 first-round pick as a one-and-done freshman, Springer averaged 13.9 points and 3.9 assists per game in 2025-26, while shooting 43.9 percent from the floor.
Lamonte' Turner | BC Luleå (Sweden) | at Tennessee 2016-20
Turner spent his fifth season of professional basketball with BC Luleå in the Basketligan and had a superb showing. He averaged 19.9 points per game across 10 contests, seven of which his team won. The talented guard shot 57.4 percent from the field, including a sparkling 55.9 percent on 3-point attempts.
Santiago Vescovi | Club Atlético Peñarol (Uruguay) | at Tennessee 2019-24
A second-year professional, Vescovi starred in his first campaign playing in his home nation of Uruguay. He averaged 16.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.6 steals in 28.8 minutes per game for Club Atlético Peñarol, which he aided to 25 wins in his 31 appearances. One of the top players in the league, Vescovi shot 46.0 percent from the field, 36.9 from long range and 72.1 percent on free throws. He scored 20-plus points on 11 occasions, including 30 on the road on Oct. 13, 2025, in his hometown against Club Nacional de Montevideo.
Zakai Zeigler | Nanterre 92 in Beltic Élite (France) | at Tennessee 2021-25
Ziegler, the SEC's single-season assists and Tennessee's career assists record holder, began his professional career with Nanterre 92, a team in the French Beltic Élite league. He has maintained his status as an elite floor general, ranking third in the league in assists per game (5.8) in his rookie campaign. The lone all-time four-time SEC All-defensive team pick is tied for the team lead in steals (32) and steals per game (1.1), anchoring a defense that has allowed the second-fewest points per game in the league. His stellar first season has propelled a major turnaround, with Nanterre 92 posting a 21-9 record good for third in the league after finishing last season at 11-19 to place No. 13 in the 16-team league.
