Since 1986, the Volunteer Athletic Scholarship Fund (VASF) has been the winning-edge for Tennessee Athletics. The financial support provided by the approximately 10,000 VASF donors has enabled Tennessee to become one of the elite athletic programs in the country. Annual donations to the VASF have grown from $600,000 in 1986 to $13.1 million in 2001, and total gifts to Men's Athletics exceeded $18 million in 2001. These gifts provide more than 500 male and female student-athletes with the opportunity to earn a degree from The University of Tennessee, and enable our coaches to recruit world-class athletes. These funds are also vital in building and maintaining the superior Athletic Facilities in which our student-athletes train and compete. There are several ways to become a donor to the Volunteer Athletic Scholarship Fund. To obtain Member Benefits, it is important to make your gift prior to MARCH 1 of each year.

Heath, Nikol and Benjie Shuler presented a check representing their commitment of $125,000 to the University of Tennessee Athletic Department during Oct. 6 UT- Georgia game. The donation will be used to create the Shuler Family Athletic Scholarship Endowment.
