Vols' Equipment Room Renamed For UT's Frazier, Parrott

Ceremonies were held Jan. 25, at the football equipment room in the Neyland-Thompson Center on campus honoring the gift of Memphian Gordon Summerfield, his wife, Melissa, and daughter, Hannah, to UT's athletic capital campaign.
At the ceremonies, a plaque was of unveiled naming the equipment room in honor of equipment manager Roger Frazier and assistant equipment manager Max Parrott.
"We are pleased to honor these two outstanding members of the athletic staff. They have been my classmates and friends since our days in school in the early 1980s," Summerfield said. "They epitomize the commitment and loyalty that make the Tennessee family so special."
Frazier, a native of Cleveland, has been on the UTAD staff since 1983. He is responsible for all football equipment issue and maintenance. He is also responsible for purchase and inventory control of all football game and practice gear. Parrott, a native of Soddy-Daisy, came on board in 1985 and his duties include repair of equipment as well as the laundering of all Volunteers gear.
The Summerfield gift to create the Roger Frazier-Max Parrott Equipment Room is part of STEP UP-The Campaign for UT Athletic Facilities, a comprehensive program for new, renovated and expanded facilities benefiting 17 of UT's 20 men and women's intercollegiate teams. These improvements are designed to enable UT to continue competing for SEC and NCAA championships in each of its sports.
