There will be a hint of orange in the pool at the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials in Long Beach, Calif., July 7-14. as five Vols earned qualifying spots. Four of the five Vols competing will be swimming for Tennessee Aquatics, the university's club team.
Junior Josh Fulton and sophomore Bryan Goldberg will be pulling double duty at the trials. Fulton will be swimming in the 100-meter backstroke and the 100-meter butterfly. Goldberg will double-up with the 200- and 400-meter freestyles.
Freshman Andrew Engle is set the join Fulton in the 100-meter butterfly.
The fourth Tennessee Aquatics representative is sophomore Tyler Gustafson. Gustafson is qualified for the 100-meter freestyle.
Tennessee sophomore Casey Dauw is also competing at the trials but will be swimming for his home club team. Dauw will be participating in the 400-meter individual medley.
Two former Vols, Raymond Rosal (2003-04) and Paulo Machado (2001-03) have qualified to make their respective countries' Olympic teams. Rosal, who qualified for Venezuela and Machado for Brazil, are waiting to see if they are selected to be a representative on the 12-man teams.

Earned All-America honors for his work on the sixth-place 800 free relay team and honorable mention All-America for his 12th-place finish in the 400 I.M. (4:14.56) and his contribution to the 12th-place 400 free relay teamat the 2004 NCAA championships ... Finished 11th in the 400 I.M. (3:50.70), 15th in the 500 free (4:28.29), 20th in the 200 fly and swam the third leg of the sixth-place 800 free relay team at the 2004 SEC championships. |

Josh Fulton - Junior - 3L - Newport News, Va.
Earned honorable mention All-America honors for his contributions to the 11th-place 400-meter medley relay, the 12th-place 200-meter free relay and the 200-meter medley relay at the 2004 NCAA championships ... At the 2004 SEC championships, finished 15th in the 100 back in 49.93 and 18th in the 100 fly in 49.45. |
| Bryan Goldberg - Sophomore - 2L - Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Earned All-America honors for his contribution to the sixth-place 800 free relay team at the 2004 NCAA championships. Also at the NCAA meet, Goldberg finished 16th in the 200 free in 1:47.31, and contributed to the 12th-place 400 free relay team ... At the 2004 SEC championships, finished 13th in the 200 free in 1:39.67, 29th in the 500 free and contributed to the sixth-place 800 free relay team. During the summer of 2003, won a gold medal while swimming the second leg of the United States' 800 free relay team at the Pan Am Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. |
