Vol Profile: Brett Tannhauser
Vol Profile: Were there any particular influences on your decision to come to Tennessee?
Tannhauser: "I was just looking for the best possible swimming school, and the best possible fit for me. I looked at Michigan, Auburn and Tennessee, and I had some friends here which really helped my decision to come here. I really felt at home here, and I made the decision to become a Tennessee Volunteer."
Vol Profile: Now that you are here what would you say your favorite thing is about UT?
Tannhauser: "I would have to say the guys on the team."
Vol Profile: Do you have any certain expectations or goals you have set for yourself this season?
Tannhauser: "This season I would like to place as a team in the top three again, last year we placed third last year. As for personal goals I would like to win the 500(m) at SECs again, and I would like to compete well at NCAAs to score as many points possible and help the team place as high as possible."
Vol Profile: Do you have a favorite or most memorable moment since you've been at Tennessee?
Tannhauser: I have a few, actually. The first was my sophomore year when I won the 500(m) at the SEC meet, the second was when the team placed third last year at the NCAA meet, and finally when we beat Texas last season, that was a great moment."
Vol Profile: Do you have any outside interests or hobbies other than swimming?
Tannhauesr: "I really don't have time for anything outside of swimming. When I do have any time I like to play basketball."
Vol Profile: Do you have any certain mental preparation or superstitions that you go through before a meet?
Tannhauser: "I have some superstitions. I don't do a whole lot of mental preparation I usually just listen to music before the meet. I have a special shirt that I wear for every meet, that's something I have done since high school."
Vol Profile: Do you have anyone that you look to for motivation?
Tannhauser: "My parents have always motivated me, they never forced me to do anything, but they were always right there behind me."
Vol Profile: After you graduate, what would you like to be remembered for?
Tannhauser: "I would like to be remembered as a hard worker, and a tough competitor."
