Mackenzie Landa was announced as Tennessee's director of operations for track & field and cross country in July 2026. Landa returned to Knoxville for her second stint with the program after spending the 2025-26 academic year as director of track & field operations at the University of Arizona. Prior to that, she served as Tennessee's director of operations for the cross country and distance program from 2022-25.
As director of operations, Landa oversees the day-to-day administrative operations for Tennessee track & field and cross country, including team travel, budget management, home meet logistics, equipment and apparel coordination and organizational support for the program's student-athletes and coaching staff.
A native of La Verne, California, Landa ran for Fresno State for two seasons before transferring to Florida State. After graduating from Florida State with a bachelor's degree in social science, she attended Azusa Pacific University, earning a master's degree in sport management. Landa completed her final year of eligibility with ASU and earned All-Region honors in cross country.
After interning with the athletics director and serving as an assistant coach at Clovis Community College in Fresno, Landa moved back to Azusa Pacific to become a volunteer assistant coach.
In August of 2020, she moved to Knoxville where she coached the distance team at Farragut High School for two seasons, guiding athletes to several top-10 marks at the state meet.
Landa grew up in Southern California and attended Bonita High School where she helped her team to the 2012 California State Cross Country Championships Division 3 title.
