A Knoxville native and University of Tennessee graduate, Forest Jersey returned to Rocky Top in July 2018 as an Assistant Media Relations Director. He currently serves as the primary media relations contact for the Tennessee track & field and cross country/distance programs and is also member of the football communications team.

Prior to Tennessee, Jersey served in his first full-time role as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Campbell University, a private Division I institution located in Buies Creek, North Carolina. Most notably, Jersey facilitated coverage as the primary communications contact for the Fighting Camels baseball program, which swept Big South Conference regular season and tournament titles in 2018.

Jersey gained valuable Power 5 experience as an Athletics Communications Assistant at NC State in the fall of 2017, working as the primary SID for the Wolfpack’s historically renowned cross country and track & field programs while completing secondary communications duties with the men’s basketball team. He covered a women's cross country program that captured an ACC Championship in 2017 as well as a top-10 finish nationally.

Jersey’s first experience as a primary sports information contact came at Campbell, serving as an Athletic Communications Assistant during the 2016-17 academic year. He worked with CU’s women’s soccer, cross country, track & field and men’s and women’s tennis programs, producing content for each team on various social media channels and GoCamels.com. Over an 11-month period, Jersey successfully nominated and/or promoted 40 Big South Athletes of the Week, 82 All-Big South honorees and four NCAA Division I All-Americans across four sports.

Jersey broke into the world of media relations as a student assistant at UT from 2015-16. Working in a supporting role in Tennessee’s athletic communications office, he aided the sports information staff with tasks such as website maintenance, producing game notes and updating media guides. In addition to office hours, he also worked events for each of Tennessee’s 20 sports. His gameday duties included running social media accounts, writing recaps, working with SEC Network staff, moderating postgame interviews and serving the local and national media as needed.

Jersey graduated from the University of Tennessee in December of 2015, earning his bachelor's in sport management with a minor in business administration. During his time at UT, he played trumpet for the university’s well-renowned ‘Pride of the Southland’ Marching Band for three years (2011-13). He also completed internships with Tennessee’s athletics event management and athletics media relations offices.
