Jeff DeWitt is entering his fifteenth year as Medical Claims Coordinator with the Sports Medicine Department at Tennessee, and his twenty-fourth overall with UT Athletics. DeWitt joined the Sports Medicine program in September 2000, and served as an athletic training student assistant from 2000-2005. From 2005 to 2007, he served as an Administrative Graduate Assistant for Training Room Operations/Medical Billing. In 2007, DeWitt was named Administrative Intern for Medical Billing, and was added to the full-time staff in September 2010 as Medical Claims Coordinator. DeWitt's duties include coordination of outstanding medical claim payments for student-athletes, scheduling and pre-certification of student-athletes for referrals to outside physicians and diagnostic studies, and administrative support services.
A native of Aiken, SC, and second-generation alumnus of the University of Tennessee, DeWitt obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Aerospace Engineering in May 2005 and a Master's of Science in Sport Studies, concentration in sport management in May 2007. He is married to fellow UT alum Shannon Perrin DeWitt of Blaine, TN, who serves as the Agriculture/4-H Extension Agent and County Director for Union Co. with University of Tennessee Extension-Institute of Agriculture. The couple resides in Corryton with their daughters, Henley and Ella.
