The Tennessee swimming and diving team finished the first road trip of the season on Saturday with a one-sided victory over SEC East rival Kentucky, winning 203-97.
"This was a great day of team racing for us," head coach John Trembley said. "We had a lot of guys step up and have really strong performances and we continued to get better this week."
Four UT freshmen earned their first wins against the Wildcats.
Sam Petersen won the 1000 freestyle with a time of nine minutes 31.55 seconds.
Drew Craig won the 100 breaststroke behind a 56.56-second mark.
Christoffer Wallin won the 200 butterfly with a time of one minute 53.74 seconds. Wallin also won the 500 freestyle with a time of four minutes 36.62 seconds
Samuel Rairden also had two individual wins on the day. The Richmond, Va., native won the 200 backstroke with a one minute 49.99-second time and the 200 breaststroke with a time of two minutes 3.43 seconds.
Sensational sophomore Norbert Kovacs continued his stellar season with two individual wins of his own. Kovacs won the 200 freestyle behind a one minute 41.95-second time. Kovacs also won the 100 butterfly with a time of 50.02 seconds.
Ryan Helms earned his first victory of the season, claiming the three-meter springboard with a score of 377.10 points.
Other winners included Michael Christy in the 200 I.M. (1:52.56), Jake Epperson in the 100 backstroke(51.32) and Ed Walsh in the 100 freestyle (46.00).
