Preview: 2026 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships

ATLANTA -- The Tennessee Volunteers are preparing for the NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships, getting underway March 25-28 at McAuley Aquatic Center on the campus of Georgia Tech. The eighth-ranked Vols head into the week with seven swimmers and four divers qualified in multiple events.

11 total swimmers and divers headline the championship meet for the Vols. Last season, Tennessee finished fifth overall, its best finish at NCAAs since 2001. The Big Orange collected nine podium finishes, including national championships in the 50 Free, 200 Free Relay, and 400 Free Relay.

Based on seeding heading into the championships, the Vols are projected to have six championship final finishes in five different events. Overall, seven individuals are projected to score at NCAAs, including two in multiple events. In addition, two Tennessee relay teams are projected to finish in the top eight.

The 400 Free Relay team ranks fifth in the nation with a time of 2:46.00, while the 200 Free Relay team checks in at eighth nationally at 1:15.27. Just outside of the top eight is the 400 Medley Relay team, ranking ninth overall with a time of 3:01.20.

Gui Caribe is projected to score in three events at the 2026 NCAA Championships. Caribe ranks in the top three in both the 50 Free (3rd, 18.46) and the 100 Free (2nd, 40.45). Caribe also ranks in the top five in the 100 Fly, with his time of 43.93 ranking fifth nationally. Caribe looks to medal in the 100 Free for the third consecutive year, following a silver medal in 2024 and a bronze in 2025. Caribe also has a chance to notch his second consecutive top three finish in the 50 Free, with the senior swimmer coming in third place last year. Caribe has earned 19 All-America designations during his collegiate career, and was a member of last season national championship 200 and 400 Free Relay teams.

Four of other Vols are also competing in three events at this year's NCAA Championships. Bennett Greene is competing in the 1-meter, 3-meter, and platform diving competitions. The sophomore earned All-America honors last season in the 1-meter and 3-meter last season and is coming off medaling in all three events at last month's SEC Championships, including taking gold in the 1-meter. Redshirt Freshman Koby Bujak-Upton will look to compete in the 100 Free, 200 Free and 500 Free this week. The Sydney, Australia native has the top-ranked time in the 200 Free in the nation, entering with a 1:30.77.

Nikoli Blackman will feature in the 50 Free, 100 Free, and 200 Free. This is Blackman's third trip to the NCAA Championships, with the junior helping lead the 200 Free Relay and 400 Free Relay teams to national championships last season. Blackman ranks in the top eight in the 200 Free, sitting eighth at 1:31.41. Freshman Gabe Nunziata is the last member of the list featuring in three events, competing in the 100 Breast, 200 Breast, and 200 IM. Nunziata ranks eighth in the nation in the 200 Breast with a time of 1:50.59.
