The 15th-ranked Tennessee swimming and diving team travels to No. 8 Ohio State to take on the defending Big Ten champion Buckeyes on Friday.
The Vols, 3-0 (1-0 SEC), are 2-0 on the road this season but face a significant challenge in Ohio State, 2-0 (0-0 Big Ten).
"Ohio State is a very good team," head coach John Trembley said. "Their program is resurgent. Coach Wadley has done a terrific job there and I am certain the Buckeyes will be ready to compete on Friday. We'll have some key matchups on the diving boards."
Usually one of UT's most reliable sources for dual-meet points, Vol divers face a significant obstacle when competing against 2008 NCAA platform champ Sean Moore.
"We certainly have our work cut out for us," diving coach Dave Parrington said. "They have an outstanding diving program and I expect the diving points to play into the final meet results. That will provide a good challenge for our guys.
"We are ready. All five divers will be traveling and I expect them to get the job done."
The last time senior diver Michael Wright dove at Ohio State's McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion, he won a USA Diving one-meter national title.
"It is going to be good for me--I only have positive memories of that place," Wright said. "I have a little more confidence and the success I've had there has really given me a great attitude heading into the meet."
Across the board, Trembley believes the matchups to be pretty even and chalks the outcome up to determination.
"This one is probably going to come down to who wants it more," Trembley said.
The meet begins at 5:30 p.m. and live results are available at OhioStateBuckeyes.com.
