Chris Fritts, OF (Northwoods League) An All-Star outfielder for the Alexandria Beetles,
Chris Fritts has had an outstanding summer. In 39 games, the Houston, Texas, native is hitting at a .329 clip with four longballs. He ranks fourth in the league in both RBIs (27) and doubles (14) and 10th with 49 hits. He has also swiped seven bases and even made two appearances on the mound, striking out two in 3.2 innings of work.
Jon Reed, RHP (Northwoods League) A teammate of Fritts' on the Alexandria Beetles,
Jon Reed has continued to build on a solid redshirt freshman season at Tennessee, posting a 4-1 record in seven starts this summer. Over 38.0 innings of action, the Tulsa, Okla., product has recorded a 3.55 ERA to go along with 22 strikeouts and just seven walks.
Andrew Toles, OF (Cape Cod Baseball League) Andrew Toles was named to the CCBL All-Star Team on Friday, becoming the first Vol to do so since Luke Hudson picked up the honors in 1996 as a member of the Yarmouth-Dennis squad.
Todd Helton was also an all-star when he played for Orleans in 1994.
As a member of the Brewster Whitecaps, Toles is currently hitting .299 with three doubles, two triples and eight RBIs through 29 games. The 2010 SEC All-Freshman Team member also ranks third among all players in the league with 12 stolen bases and is tied for fifth with 35 hits.
Nick Williams, RHP (New England Collegiate Baseball League) A key member of the Tennessee bullpen during his freshman season,
Nick Williams has been used primarily as a starter for the Danbury Westerners. The results have been quite promising as the hard-throwing righty has earned a spot on the NECBL All-Star Team after posting some fantastic numbers. In seven total appearances, including six starts, the Knoxville native is 4-1 with a 3.62 ERA. He has struck out 39 batters and walked just 19 in 32.1 innings of action. His win total ranks second in the league, while his strikeout total places him fourth.
