POSTGAME NOTES
THE SERIES
- This marks the fourth meeting between the Lady Tigers and the Lady Vols with all meetings being in Knoxville.
- The Lady Vols are 4-0 in the all-time series with the Lady Tigers.
- The contest marked the final of four successive home games to open the 2014-15 campaign.
FOR STARTERS
- Today's starters: Jordan Reynolds, Nia Moore, Cierra Burdick, Bashaara Graves and Andraya Carter.
- This is the third starting lineup for the Lady Vols. They've added Burdick and Carter.
- Tennessee lost the tip for the third time this season.
- The Lady Vols first score came off a lay-up from Nia Moore.
- Tennessee State started with a 6-0 run.
OFF THE BENCH
- Ariel Massengale was the first one off the bench for the Lady Vols, coming in for Jordan Reynolds.
- Alexa Middleton came in next to help with production.
- Jaime Nared also came in during the first half.
- Kortney Dunbar entered the game with 4:21 left in the half.
MOORE BRINGS IT
- With 14 minutes left to play in the first half, Nia Moore had seven of the nine Lady Vol points while trailing to TSU 15-9.
- Moore was the first Lady Vol to score in double digits. She has done so in four straight games.
- It was her third game with 20-plus points. She also earned her second double-double of the season and third of her career with 25 points and 11 rebounds.
- Moore's 25 points earned her a new career-high.
LADY VOL RUNS
- The Lady Vols had their eighth run of 10-0 or more with a 22-0 run over 6:11.
- Forcing turnovers was Tennessee's biggest change of play after trailing 6-0 and by eight points to begin the game.
- In the second half, the Lady Vols went on a 19-0 run before finishing on a 30-4 run over 8:52.
BURDICK GETS IN THE GROOVE
- After being scoreless in her first game, Cierra Burdick scored eight in the first half. She also tallied two rebounds and steals.
- Burdick was the second Lady Vol in double digits with a total of 10.
POINTS FOR EVERYONE
- Every Lady Vol that entered the game earned at least three points.
- Four Lady Vols earned double digit scores, Nia Moore, Bashaara Graves, Jaime Nared and Cierra Burdick.
BALL SECURITY
- It is the first time in Lady Vol history that UT has forced 30-plus turnovers in three consecutive games. They did so against Oral Roberts (30), Winthrop (34) and Tennessee St. (38).
- In the first half, the Lady Vols committed just four turnovers as a team. The Lady Tigers had 16 in comparison. UT scored 18 points off of turnovers in the first 20 minutes.
- UT forced 38 turnovers, the most of the season, and most since Memphis had 46 on Feb. 16, 1999.
- The Lady Vols have committed only 50 turnovers through four games.
- They have 90 assists compared to 50 turnovers.
LADY VOLS OUTREBOUNDED
- For the first time this season, the Lady Vols were outrebounded 42-37. It happened just three times all last season, Stanford (-3), Arkansas (-7) and Maryland (-2).
AT THE HALF
- The Lady Vols didn't have their first lead of the game until 9:35 left in the half after a three-pointer from Ariel Massengale to make it 23-20.
- Tennessee led 44-27 at the halfway mark.
- Nia Moore led all scorers with 15 points.
- UT shot 47.1 percent (16-34) compared to Tennessee State's 33.3 percent (9-27).
- The Lady Vols outscored Tennessee St. in the paint 30-6 in the first half.
OUT OF THE LINEUP
- Both Isabelle Harrison and Jasmine Jones sat out due to injuries sustained against the first game against Penn.
UP NEXT
- Tennessee will make its first road trip against Chattanooga on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. ET.
