Here are a few numbers of interest:

» Three Lady Vols earned double-digit scores, Harrison, Jasmine Jones and Ariel Massengale.

» Cierra Burdick took her fifth charge of the season.

» Tennessee held Rutgers to just 45 points, which is 15 points fewer than their previous season low score of 60.

» Isabelle Harrison earned her 26th career double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

POSTGAME NOTES

THE SERIES

This marked the 23rd meeting between Tennesee and Rutgers. The Lady Vols now have a 20-3 record over the Scarlet Knights. UT has improved to 4-3 at Rutgers and is the third straight win in the RAC.
The Lady Vols have extended their streak to ten straight wins vs. the Scarlet Knights.
In the last meeting vs. the two teams, Rutgers was unranked and fell to UT 66-47 in Knoxville on Dec. 30, 2012.
Tennessee assistant coach Jolette Law was an assistant coach at Rutgers from 1995-2007, working under current head coach C. Vivian Stringer who she also played for at Iowa from 1987-90.

LADY VOLS WIN

The win over #17/#19 Rutgers was the first on the road over an Associated Press ranked team since #12/11 North Carolina on Nov. 11, 2013, which UT won 81-65.
The Lady Vols are 16-12 vs. ranked teams under Holly Warlick, including 13-5 vs. teams ranked 11-25 in the AP poll. In all time vs. top-25 teams, UT is 456-180.
The 45 points scored by Rutgers was its lowest of the season by 15 since scoring 60 points in a win over Colgate on Nov. 28, 2014.
Tennessee's field goal percentage of 27.5 was the lowest in a victory since UT shot 27.0 percent vs. #2 North Carolina to win 56-50 in the NCAA Final Four Semifinals on April 1, 2007.
The Lady Vols forced 15 turnovers in the game and outrebounded Rutgers 54-42.
UT had its 16th run of 10-0 or more with a run of 16-2 to end the game.
The Lady Vols scored the fewest amount of points since the 56-50 win over Missouri on Feb. 23, 2014.

FOR STARTERS

Today's starters: Jordan Reynolds, Isabelle Harrison, Jasmine Jones, Bashaara Graves and Andraya Carter.
This marked the first start for Harrison this season.
Reynolds and Graves are the only two Lady Vols to start in every game this season.
This is the sixth different line-up for the Lady Vols. They are now 1-0 with the group.
Tennessee lost the tip for the fifth time this season.
The Lady Vols first score came off a lay-up from Jasmine Jones.

OFF THE BENCH

The first Lady Vol off the bench was Cierra Burdick, in for Isabelle Harrison with 17:25 left in first half.
With 14:41 left in the half, Ariel Massengale, Alexa Middleton and Nia Moore entered the game.
The Lady Vols' bench outscored the Scarlet Knights' bench 21-3.

LADY VOLS TAKING CHARGES

Ariel Massengale was the first to take a charge against the Rutgers, her second of the season.
Cierra Burdick took her fifth charge of the season halfway through the first half.

DOUBLE DIGIT SUCCESS

Jasmine Jones was the first Lady Vol in double digits and tallied a total of 12. She has earned 10-plus points in four games this season.
Isabelle Harrison also scored more than 10 points with a total of 11. She also earned her second double-double of the season and 26th of her career with 13 rebounds.
Ariel Massengale was the third Lady Vol with 10-plus points. She earned a team-high 13 points.

DEFENSE DOES THE JOB

Andraya Carter once again led UT in steals with three.
The Lady Vols forced 15 turnovers vs. Rutgers.
Rutgers was outrebounded 54-42. Tennessee allowed only 10 offensive rebounds. UT earned 34 of its 54 rebounds defensively.

AT THE HALF

The Lady Vols scored just 20 points at the half, which ties for the fewest amount of points scored in a half this season. It last happened at #6/9 Texas.
Jasmine Jones led the Lady Vols scoring with eight points.
The Lady Vols were outrebounded 23-20 but forced eight rebounds.
UT shot 17.9 percent (7-39) while Rutgers shot 30.0 percent (9-30).

LADY VOLS GET A SPECIAL VISITOR

Over the summer, Cierra Burdick had a summer internship in NYC for Good Morning American and worked closely with Robin Roberts.
As a special guest for the Lady Vols, GMA anchor Robin Roberts attended the game.

UP NEXT

Tennessee will return home for a four-game series starting with a quick turnaround with Wichita State coming to Thompson-Boling Arena on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m.
The Wichita State game will be the first Tennessee women's basketball game to air on the SEC Network.
