POSTGAME NOTES
THE SERIES
- The meeting with #10/12 Oregon State marked the fourth ranked opponent of the season and second in a row from the Pac-12.
- This marked the third all-time meeting between these programs. The Lady Vols own a 3-0 record vs. the Beavers.
- It is the first time that the programs meet both ranked.
- The Lady Vols are 64-18 all-time vs. the Pac-12 conference.
- Tennessee broke Oregon State's winning streak of 10-straight games to be the Beavers lone loss of the season.
- The Lady Vols have more players from the state of Oregon than OSU in Jordan Reynolds, Jaime Nared and Mercedes Russell.
AGAINST RANKED TEAMS
- Holly Warlick is 458-180 vs. Top 25 teams and is 180-132 vs. AP Top-10 ranked opponents.
- This is the first time Warlick has beaten two top-10 ranked teams back-to-back. UT defeated Stanford a week ago.
- Under Warlick, it's also the first time that the Lady Vols have beaten two top-10 ranked teams in the same season.
- It is the first time since the 2011-12 season that the Lady Vols have beat two top-10 ranked teams in the same season when they defeated #7 Miami on Nov. 15 and #7 Kentucky on Feb. 13. Those two wins were also at home in Knoxville.
- The Lady Vols have now beaten two top-10 teams in back-to-back games for the first time since the Final Four in 2008 when they defeated #6 Louisiana St. and #4 Stanford.
FOR STARTERS
- Today's starters: Bashaara Graves, Cierra Burdick, Isabelle Harrison, Andraya Carter, Jordan Reynolds.
- Graves and Reynolds are the only two that have started every game this season.
- The Lady Vols used the same starting line-up against Wichita State. They are now 2-0 with the line-up.
- Tennessee won the tip for the seventh time this season and for the third time in a row.
- The Lady Vols first score came off a jumper from Cierra Burdick.
OFF THE BENCH
- The first Lady Vol off the bench was Ariel Massengale for Jordan Reynolds, her seventh-time being the first off the bench.
- Nia Moore was the second Lady Vol off the bench.
- Jaime Nared followed soon after with 11:04 left in the first half.
- Alexa Middleton made her game debut towards the end of the first half.
- The Lady Vols' bench outscored OSU 24-12.
HARRISON MOVES UP ON CAREER LIST, MAKES DIFFERENCE
- With five blocks vs. the Beavers, Isabelle Harrison moved into sole possession of ninth-place in career blocks with 115 to pass Chamique Holdsclaw (1995-99) who had 111.
- Her five blocks mark a season-high.
- Harrison earned a team-high 20 points for a new season-high. It is her first game of the season scoring 20-plus. Six of her points came from the free throw line, which also earned her a new season-high in free throws made.
- She earned her third double-double of the season and 27th overall with an additional 12 rebounds.
STRONG DEFENSE
- In the first half, the Beavers were 6-for-9 from beyond the arc. In the second half, OSU was 0-for-7.
- In the second half, UT held Oregon State's leading scorer #24 Sydney Wiese to just 1-for-7 for field goals including 0-for-4 from beyond the arc.
- UT forced 19 turnovers, including three steals by Jordan Reynolds.
- Twenty-two of the 39 Lady Vol rebounds were on the defense. Isabelle Harrison had six defensive rebounds.
- So far this season, the Lady Vols have recorded 151 steals. They tallied 273 total steals last season.
WINNING AT HOME
- Both the men's and women's teams are undefeated in Thompson-Boling Arena so far this season.
- The men's team is now 6-0 in TBA while the Lady Vols have moved to 8-0 for a combined win streak of 14-0.
DOUBLE DIGIT SUCCESS
- Four Lady Vols finished the game with 10-plus points, including Isabelle Harrison, Cierra Burdick, Alexa Middleton, Ariel Massengale.
- Harrison earned her sixth double-digit score of the season with 20 points. She was the first Lady Vol to hit 10-plus.
- Freshman Alexa Middleton was the second Lady Vol with 10-plus. She accumulated 12 points.
- Cierra Burdick tallied 11 points, three rebounds and a block and steal.
- Ariel Massengale earned another 11 points and added three rebounds
REBOUNDING SUCCESS
- Since being outrebounded in a two-out-of-three game stretch by Tenn. St. and Texas, Tennessee has a 16.8 rebounding margin in its last six contests while winning all six.
- The Lady Vols outrebounded the Beavers 39-36.
AT THE HALF
- At the half, the Lady Vols led by just one point to lead 35-34. The 34 points is the second most UT has allowed in a first half. Tennessee allowed 37 against Chattanooga.
- Isabelle Harrison led Lady Vol scoring with 12 points and also led with seven rebounds.
- Both teams had 19 rebounds at the half. UT forced 10 turnovers and OSU forced nine.
- UT shot 46.4 percent (13-28) while Oregon State shot 40.0 percent (12-30).
UP NEXT
- The Lady Vols will open up SEC play against Missouri on Friday, Jan. 2 at 9 p.m. E.T. on the SEC Network.
