POSTGAME NOTES
THE SERIES
- This season, the Vols are 2-1 against schools from the Volunteer State, having toppled Tennessee State (97-46) in Knoxville and dropping a 67-63 decision at Chattanooga.
- This marked the second game against Lipscomb and was the first women's basketball game that Tennessee played in Allen Arena. The Lady Vols now have a 2-0 edge in the series.
- With the win, the Lady Vols improved to 2-0 vs. LU and 7-0 vs. teams from the Atlantic Sun Conference. Lipscomb Head Coach Greg Brown was on the Lady Vol basketball staff from 2002-2004.
- This is the first road victory for the Lady Vols this season.
FOR STARTERS
- Today's starters: Jordan Reynolds, Nia Moore, Jasmine Jones, Bashaara Graves and Andraya Carter.
- This is the same starting lineup for the Lady Vols that they had vs. SFU. They are 2-0 with the group.
- Tennessee won the tip for the fourth time this season.
- The Lady Vols' first score came off a jumper from Bashaara Graves.
OFF THE BENCH
- The first Lady Vols off the bench were Ariel Massengale, Alexa Middleton, Jaime Nared, Cierra Burdick and Isabelle Harrison. They came in for the starting lineup with 15:30 left in the first half.
- Kortney Dunbar came in off the bench midway through the first half.
- The Lady Vols' bench outscored the Lady Bisons' bench, 58-19.
- Massengale made three of six shots from beyond the arc.
ON A RUN
- The Lady Vols had their 15th run of 10-0 or more during the first half going on a 26-0 run.
- The 26-0 run was their longest of the season and the second of 20-0 or more.
DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE
- In the first half, the Lady Vols' defense forced two shot clock violations and a back court violation.
- The Lady Bisons were limited to just 15 points in the first half, which is the lowest score allowed in a half this season since they allowed 17 points against Oral Roberts.
- This was the fifth time this season that the Lady Vols have forced 20-plus turnovers. They forced a total of 24. Last season, UT forced 20-plus turnovers just five times all season.
- Andraya Carter took her third charge of the season in the second half.
MASSENGALE MOVES UP IN RECORD BOOK
- Entering the game, senior Ariel Massengale had 438 assists to sit in ninth place in total career assists. In the first half, Massengale moved up to eighth place with one assist, tying Dena Head (1988-92) with 439 career assists.
- With a second assist in the second half, Massengale took sole possession of the eighth place spot to move past Head with a total assist count of 440.
DOUBLE FIGURES AND MORE
- Cierra Burdick was the first Lady Vol to earn a double-digit score. She had 16 for a new season high. It was her second straight double-digit game and third of the season.
- Burdick earned her second double-double of the season with an additional 10 rebounds, also a season high.
- Isabelle Harrison was the second UT player to score 10-plus points. It was her second time doing so this season and marked a season high with 16 points.
- It was Alexa Middleton's third time this season scoring in double digits. She tallied 12 points.
LADY VOLS GET A SPECIAL VISITOR
- Star of the documentary "It's Time," Brad Gaines was present at the Lady Vols game vs. Lipscomb today, sitting right behind the team bench.
- The documentary shares the story of Ole Miss defensive back Chucky Mullins and Vanderbilt fullback Brad Gaines and the bond formed between them after a 1989 on-field collision paralyzed Mullins.
- Gaines came to visit and speak with the Lady Vols in Thompson-Boling Arena as part of a series of team-building events prior to the season.
AT THE HALF
- The Lady Bisons had only one lead during the half after shooting a three-pointer to lead 3-2. They ended the half with 15 points, the fewest the Lady Vols have allowed all season in any half.
- With Lipscomb taking a brief lead, it marked the sixth time in eight games that an opponent had led Tennessee in a game.
- Cierra Burdick led all scorers in the first half with 12 points.
- The Lady Vols out-rebounded the Lady Bisons 20-17 and forced 15 turnovers in the opening 20 minutes.
- UT shot 41.4 percent (12-29), while Lipscomb shot 20.8 percent (5-24) in the opening stanza.
LADY VOL BIRTHDAY
- Today, the Lady Vols celebrated the birthday of assistant coach Jolette Law.

- Tennessee will make its fourth road trip of the year to take on #18/20 Rutgers in Piscataway, N.J., on Sunday, Dec. 14, at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
