POSTGAME NOTES
THE SERIES
- This is the third meeting between the two programs this season and 64th meeting overall.
- Tennessee now has a 49-15 record in the series.
- Tennessee now has a 14-3 postseason record vs. Andy Landers' squad.
- Holly Warlick is 5-0 vs. UGA as a head coach.
- The Lady Vols have won the last nine games against the Lady Bulldogs.
- These teams are meeting for only the 11th when one of the teams is not nationally ranked.
- This is the third time this season that the Lady Vols have faced UGA. The last time Tennessee beat a single team three times in a season was in 2010-11 when UT defeated Florida twice during the regular season and once in the SEC tournament.
- This marked Holly Warlick's 100th game as a head coach.
UT'S SEC TOURNEY HISTORY
- In the SEC tournament, the Lady Vols have a 74-18 all-time record and 17 titles in the previous 35 years.
- The Lady Vols are 19-2 in the tournament since 2007-08.
- Tennessee is 8-2 in games played at the Verizon Arena for the SEC tourney.
- UT is 10-3 vs. the Lady Bulldogs in the tourney.
- UGA's total of 41 points marked the fewest points allowed in a game during the SEC tournament.
FOR STARTERS
- Today's starters: Bashaara Graves, Cierra Burdick, Jordan Reynolds, Andraya Carter and Ariel Massengale.
- Not one single Lady Vol has started every game this season. Reynolds has started in all but one game.
- With this group, Tennessee is 3-1.
- The jump ball was controlled by Tennessee.
- The first Tennessee points were scored by Andraya Carter with a lay-up.
OFF THE BENCH
- Jaime Nared, Nia Moore and Alexa Middleton all came off the bench early in the first half to help relieve the starters.
- Kortney Dunbar entered the game with 9:57 left in the game.
- Tennessee outscored the UGA bench 34-17.
A-MASS REACHES NEW MILESTONE
- Entering the game, Massengale needed just one assist to become the third Lady Vol to record 500 assists and 1,000 points in her career at UT. Tonight, she dished out three.
- Massengale reached the feat in 116 games, which is the same time that it took former Lady Vol Lea Henry and the fastest.
- She is just the fifth Lady Vol to reach 500 career assists.
1,000 POINTS FOR C-BIRD
- Entering the game, senior Cierra Burdick needed just five points to become the fourth Lady Vol this season to earn 1,000 career points.
- Tonight, she tallied six points, eight rebounds and three assists.
- Overall, Burdick is the 42nd Lady Vol to reach the milestone.
OFFENSIVELY SPEAKING
- The Lady Vols went on their 30th and 31st runs of 10-0 or more. Over a period of 6:49, UT went on a 15-0 run during the first half. In the second half, UT went on a 10-0 run over 4:18.
- Tennessee continues to win in points in the paint 998-746 through 30 games. Tonight, UT scored 44 points in the paint compared to UGA's 12. This is the first game since the loss of Isabelle Harrison that the Lady Vols have won in the paint.
- Bashaara Graves earned her first double-double since the Stanford game on Dec. 20, 2014. This marked her seventh double-double of the season. She tallied 13 points and 11 rebounds.
- The Lady Vols earned 21 points off turnovers versus UGA's 12 points.
- Every Lady Vol scored at least three points. Nia Moore led all scorers with 14 points.
- Moore scored her most points (14) since tallying 25 vs. Tennessee St. on Nov. 24, 2014. Her 14 points marked a new personal SEC-high.
D-D-DEFENSE
- The Lady Vols limited Georgia to just 11 points in the first half which is the fifth fewest points allowed in a first half in program history. The last time it happened was on Jan. 8, 2012 vs. Arkansas.
- The 41 points by UGA tie the second fewest points scored in a game vs. UT since the series began.
- UGA's total points marked the fewest points allowed in a game during an SEC tournament.
REBOUNDING A PRIORITY
- With rebounding a priority for the Lady Vols, they out-rebounded the Lady Bulldogs (47-23). The +24 margin is the 13th of out-rebounding an opponent by at least 10 and fourth time out-rebounding a foe by 20-plus.
- Every Lady Vol that played grabbed at least one rebound.
AT THE HALF
- The Lady Vols led Georgia 32-11 at the half.
- Georgia's 11 points in the first half is the fifth fewest points allowed in a first half in program history. The last time it happened was on Jan. 8, 2012 vs. Arkansas.
- UT shot 46.4 percent (13-28) while the Lady Bulldogs shot 16.7 percent (5-30).
- UT led 18-2 in points in the pain and 13-4 in points off turnovers.
- The Lady Vols had out-rebounded UGA 28-11.
