Gregg Leads No. 7 Lady Vols Past No. 17 Alabama, 1-0

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Senior shortstop Meghan Gregg tallied a RBI double to center in helping lift No. 7 Tennessee to a 1-0 victory over No. 17 Alabama in game one of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon in front of a sold-out crowd at Rhodes Softball Stadium.
Tennessee (39-8 | 9-7 SEC) scored the game's lone run in the top of the third inning.
Junior second baseman Aubrey Leach drew a walk and then stole second base – her 16th of the season, in order to work her way into scoring position for the Lady Vols. Two batters later, Gregg hit a double off the wall in centerfield to score Leach.
The double by Gregg proved to be more than enough for the Lady Vols as Matty Moss (17-3) tossed her fifth complete game en route to her 17th win of the season. Moss finished with six strikeouts and allowed only one hit on the afternoon.
Scarlet McSwain finished the game 1-for-2 at the dish for Tennessee, respectfully.
Alabama (27-14 | 7-9 SEC) was led by senior pitcher Alexis Osorio who finished the afternoon with 14 strikeouts in the circle for the Tide.
