Greene Claims Gold at USA Diving Winter Nationals

MIDLAND, Texas -- A United States Champion and multiple other top performances highlight a successful weekend at the USA Diving Winter Nationals held in Midland, Texas at COM Aquatics.
Bennett Greene took the gold in the men's 1-Meter event, putting up a score of 754.30. Greene becomes the first Tennessee diver to win gold at the Winter Nationals since Colin Zeng claimed gold in the platform in 2017. A two-time SEC Male Diver of the Week so far this season, Greene has now won eight diving events this season. Greene also earned a top ten finish in the 3-Meter at the Winter Nationals.
Emma Rhines also earned a podium finish at the USA Diving Winter Nationals, taking third in the women's 1-Meter event. The freshman finished the competition with a 476.25 to earn the bronze medal. Desharne Bent-Ashmeil also put up the third-highest score in the 1-Meter at 513.60. Bent-Ashmeil followed up that performance with the seventh-best score in the women's 3-Meter final of 506.10. The London, England native has had an impressive start to her Tennessee career, with three wins to begin the season.
