Rowing Central: #4 Tennessee Takes on #1 Stanford in Oak Ridge

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The fourth-ranked Tennessee rowing team is back on the water on Saturday, as the Lady Vols take on the number one-ranked Stanford Cardinal at Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge. Racing between the two programs is set to begin at 8:45 a.m.

The 4V4 gets action started at 8:45 on Saturday, followed by the 3V8 and 4V8 at 9 a.m. The 2V4 and 3V4 boats take on the waters next at 9:15, with the 1V4, 2V8, and 1V8 crews going next each in 15-minute intervals.

The regatta is free for all fans, with the shoreline offering multiple viewing locations for spectators. Parking and quick access to the shoreline can be found at the Oak Ridge Rowing Association.

This marks the second consecutive year that the Lady Vols and the Cardinal matchup in Oak Ridge during the regular season. The two teams met last season to open the 2025 campaign. This is the second contest of the season for the Lady Vols this season, after opening the year against Michigan. This is the first race of the regular season for Stanford.

The Lady Vols are coming off one another successful season, finishing in the top five of the NCAA Championships for the second-straight season in 2025. The finish solidified the most successful two-year stretch in program history. Stanford is coming off its third national championship in program history last season.

Four Tennessee Lady Vols were named to the CRCA Athletes to Watch List. The group features Alex Pidgeon, Meg Flanagan, Taryn Graves, and Nicole Campbell. Pidgeon returns after garnering First Team All-American honors and was a finalist for the CRCA Athlete of the Year award. Flanagan returns to the team in 2026 after earning Second Team All-America status a season ago.
